The answer to your question will depend on how much water resistance you are comfortable with.  You may want to try the medium resistance first to see if that is comfortable enough for you.

08/06/2017 How resistant to chlorine? Have you noticed fraying or any type of degradation? Edit
Update your question: Content is required.

For the Thera-Band Hand Bars Water Weights - Heavy, they are not chlorine resistant. However, I've honestly never seen this item being returned except for one that was damaged during transit.

These are one of our best sellers and it also has a 5 star rating.

05/18/2017 I am currently using Fitness Wholesale's Challege P.R.O. They have more resistance than the bars normally used in water aerobics, but I'm looking for a pair with even more resitance. Are you familair with this brand and do you know how they would compare? WWW.fwonline.com Thanks! Edit
Update your question: Content is required.

The Thera-Band Hand Bars Water Weights - Heavy are comparable to the Challeng P.R.O Adjustable Stretch Strap. The Thera-Band Hand Bars enables swimmers to build muscle strength, balance and coordination and flexibility while preserving joint strength. Tone your arms, chest, shoulders and back and they offer 6lbs of force.

03/03/2016 How do these compare to the Hydro Fit Jumbo water weights? We are looking for greater resistance than those. Sorry for the repeat question ; ) Edit

Hi Krista, The major difference is the buoyancy factor. The Thera-Band Hand Bars Water Weights - Heavy create more buoyancy than the HYDRO-FIT® Hand Buoys Water Weights do to the high tech foam composite is uses. When used in the water the Thera-Band Hand Bars Water Weights - Heavy can feel like a 20 lb. dumbbell or heavier.

Hi Bill these will work for those of any weight. They are designed to be used like land weights , creating resistance in the water as you pull the dumbbell through the water. They are not intended or used for flotation of the entire body.
