Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

My daughters are on a swim team and always in the pool at home, so unfortunately they get swimmers ear. This band even without ear plugs has been great having them wear it at home to keep the water out. They also prefer to wear these at home vs their swim caps. Easy to put on and can be worn with goggles.
