Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

The fit is exact and doesn't fall down as you move or swim. It's tight but not too tight (I was afraid it'd be too tight in the thighs). I'd buy this again.
