Love this bottom. Only worn it once so far to paddle board but it feels and looks great on...I believe it is true to size. I'm about 5'10'' lean, athletic build (135 lb) and the medium fit great. Excited to wear them during the summer. As far as swimming distance in them, I can't say. Love the funky tropical pattern and bright colors. Makes me feel good about self.
