Good triathlon shorts for the money

I have a 38-inch waist and was nervous about a short that would be too small. Ordered an XL, which fit snug but comfortable. Triathletes tend to be leaner folks, so an XXL would be what the rest of the USA considers a "Large" or XL.

    Bang for your buck!!!

Great training shorts. This is my third pair of Zoot Tri Core shorts. My oldest pair are almost two years old with 100’s of miles of training sessions. If you’re second guessing…stop…purchase a pair!

    Good choice

This is a great option for triathlons or even duathlonns. My order arrived on a Thursday and I did a sprint tri on Saturday and it was just right. Form fitting but not too tight. I wear a medium in most t-shirts and shorts, but didn't want this to be compression fit so went up a size to a large and that worked great. Felt aero but not compression. Comfortable for all three events.

Way too tight in the wast and too loose on the quads.

The item didn't fit so I had to return it. I have a 35 inch waste and the XXL is much smaller than the Garneau tri-shorts I need to replace. So the fit just isn't right. But they seemed like nice tri-shorts so I gave them a four star rating.

These are NOT Cycling Shorts !

Sizing runs small. I am 5'-11, 34"-35" waist and purchased these large shorts. They did fit, but very high compression, reflective of a "performance fit" as advertised. Ordered another pair in XL which fit much better, and I sent the Large pair back for a second XL. Material is very thick thick, and the shorts are well made. Very uniform in the compression. Leg bands are very wide, and the waist is secure. The issue is the area and thickness of the chamois. Most bike shorts I have worn do NOT offer the compression offered by these shorts, so I have always worn an athletic supporter with my bike shorts. With these shorts the chamois will cover what needs to be covered, but it is NOT wide enough to cover the straps of an athletic supporter. I rode 25 miles and got very sore at the inside of my leg where it intersects the hip, where the strap of the athletic supporter crossed. Reading the various blogs would indicate these shorts are NOT to be worn with any undergarments. After a day off I rode the same 25 mile route without any undergarments of any kind and did NOT experience any chafing. The ride was much better. In wearing these shorts for a pure cycling application you essentially have NO padding. As long as you are in a position where you are aggressively pedaling, forcing a larger portion of your weight to be carried on the aerobars and your legs these shorts are great, but once you attempt to relax, and just ride you will really start to feel it. There is very little road…
