I purchased a pair of TYR’s Special Ops 2.0 Polarized Camo Goggle from SwimOutlet along with several other pair. They were used exclusively in a non-chlorinated pool about once a week for a year. I rotate goggles. After approximately a year, one of the adjustment clips broke while in the pool. Tried several methods and have to knot the strap in order to use the goggles. About six months later the other clip broke. Recently when taking the goggles out of my gym bag, the nose bridge broke. The lenses are fine. My goggles are case kept when not in use.

    1 Review Stars By db118506

I just started swimming last October training for my first triathlon. Being new I had no idea about goggles or swim gear or the like. I went down to my local sports authority and picked up the cheapest pair of goggles I could find. They just so happened to be TYR race techs (or crafts whatever they are called). I got lucky because they worked well for many many months swimming 4 days a week until recently when the strap finally broke. I had such a good experience with the first pair I decided to look for another pair of TYR's. I found the Special Op's and were drawn to them because they said they were good open water goggles and they came in camo which I thought would be cool as it would differentiate myself from everyone else come race day. I was super bummed the first time I swam in them because the lenses immediately fogged up and water leaked into the eye gaskets. I realize that peoples faces are different so the water issue can't be entirely blamed on the goggle but the fog issue really irked me. Since I spent $30 on them I decided to try to tough it out for a while with them and I had probably 3-4 miserable workouts under my belt, with me constantly dumping water out/readjusting/wiping fog etc. and low and behold this morning the strap adjuster broke! It blows my mind how sometimes a seemingly better product at a higher price point can perform at or BELOW that of another product from the same manufacturer. Fit aside, the fog issue and the strap adjuster breaking after 5 workouts is just silly. I even bought the anti fog spray and tried it with mixed results (have to keep reapplying). I never thought I'd say it but I guess I will end up going back to Sports Authority and buying another pair of $15 racecrafts that outperformed this goggle in everyway.
