Great performance suit
This was the first time I’ve purchased a techsuit. I’m using it for competitive meets, such as county or state tournaments. There’s a clear difference in speed when you’re racing with it, and the material whicks away water for a cleaner movement. As a sprinter, I know that every tenth of a second is drastic, so this definitely makes me perform at my best. I’d recommend purchasing it a size lower than your normal size, as I had to return mine at first because it was too loose for competition.

Always worn TYR suits but this was terrible
So let me start by saying that I have been pretty much a lifelong TYR tech suit wearer. My junior year of high school I started wearing TYR and never went back. Eventually I realized I needed to be wearing 26s instead of 28s (for better compression), and ultimately I went through 3 TYR B-Series size 26s suits for my last few years of collegiate competition. I am now a few years out of college and recently signed up to compete in a masters meet. I thought it would be fun to get a new suit and this one looked pretty awesome, and had a much lower cost than some other suits. Unfortunately, TYR really let me down here.As I said above, I have worn TYR size 26s for years, but I was able to get this size 26 Thresher fully on in about 30 seconds. That should have been my first clue something was off. After putting it on at my meet, I hopped in to warm-up, did a 50 and immediately knew the suit was too big! Not only was the compression not all that good, it caught a ton of water in the back. Fortunately, I had brought one of my old Tracer B-Series suits with me and quickly switched into that. As it always had in the past, that same size 26 B-Series suit fit perfectly!I love TYR suits, but I think they need re-evaluate or post a warning about the sizing on this suit. I think maybe I could have worn a 24 - but as I said before, I''ve ALWAYS been a TYR size 26 and buying this suit in that size was a complete disaster.
Great suit, great fit for competition! Only thing is after day one the TYR emblem on the front started peeling off. My son measures at a 30 and the 26 was the perfect size for this type of suit.
Fit: Feels true to size
The TYR Thresher suit was everything I expected, a good quality product. The fit is a little on the small size but that was not a surprise because unfortunately I am between a 28 and 30 but they do not offer a size 29. Rather than risk a suit that is too loose, I chose to go with a tighter fit. I wish TYR did offer more size options but I do like their products.
Fit: Feels too small
It really does make a difference!
My 10 year old son wore this tech suit for the first time today. He had been so close to his Zone cuts, but hadn't been able to quite get over the hump. He just swam in a meet 7 days ago, but with this suit he dropped 0.64 seconds off his free and an amazing 1.77 seconds off his breast stroke (qualified for Zones in breast). I'm now a firm believer that the suit make a difference!
My First TYR Tech Suit
Great value, fit well and well made. Had to review TYR sizing chart several times though as you could easily order the wrong size if you don’t pay attention. I’d buy Again!
Nice suit, I just bought it for my senior for his HS championship. Unfortunately it is huge and when he dove in a huge bubble formed inside the suit. I purchased a 28 . His practice suit is 32 so I went two sizes down. But the suit is extremely loose, he felt like he swam with a normal jammer. It does repel water but the sizing is wrong and the fact that creates bubble it’s a NO. I will return it. Disappointed because his old tech suit was also a tYR size 28 and fit perfect, but not this one.
Select based on normal size. ‘Recommended size’ too small.
Ordered two different tech suits for my son. This one was actually the smaller size of the two, but was too loose in the legs, but way to low cut in the front (indecently low). He also got an Arena in a 22 because they didn’t have the 20 available and it fits perfectly.
