Within 20 minutes of the first ride I found a whole at the seem in the crotch area.

  • 7/4/2014 Great Tri-Shorts!

5 Review Stars By Marc W.

I'm 5"9" 170 lbs and purchased the mediums.  I like compression shorts that fit just below mid-thigh and these are perfect.  I bought a second pair.  Easy to swim in and transition.  Cycling pad is thin, comfortable riding and running -- just enough.  I also have a pair of the 2XU 7" shorts and I like these better, especially for swimming and running.

Quality is great but tight around the thigh. I recommend 9in tyr shorts.

Purchased for Triathlon use.  Fits well everywhere except that the crotch feels slightly low which means the padding is sort of against your upper thigh when running.  Easy fix by pulling the waist up a bit, but I wear most other suits below my hips.  The silicone beads on legs work well without being irritating.  I'm nitpicking a bit here.  I really like the suit and would recommend it.

  • 10/5/2016 Survived my first Tri!

    4 Review Stars By Sharky

These shorts are comfortable and did the job!  The cushioning is just about right...doesn't impose too much drag and makes the bike ride tolerable!  I don't own any others so I have no means to compare.  (I normally swim in briefs and do notice the added drag with these shorts.)

  • 3/14/2014 Bought these for long-distance runs.

    5 Review Stars By David

I bought these shorts for running long distances, competition wear for half-marathons. They are very comfortable and I like that they don't have the weighed-down feel of baggy shorts, which get heavy when I'm sweating.

Fit and feel is very nice as expected with TYR. Love the length, and the pad is just enough for longer rides. Great styling.

  • 5/31/2014 TYR Competitor Tri Short

4 Review Stars By Justin C.

I am 6'1" 200 lbs and have the TYR Carbon in the short john version in an XL and it fits perfectly.  I bought the Competitor shorts in the XL and all of it fits except the pad area. The pad area feels too loose on the run. I haven't experienced any chafing but my next pair will be a size smaller.

ABOUT THIS BRAND

TYR

Founded in Southern California in 1985, TYR™ has since developed a reputation for high-quality products and equipment. TYR competition swimwear and triathlon gear have been a dominant force in their respective industries. The company is also known for its TYR goggles, swim apparel, triathlon wetsuits and a wide variety of swimming equipment.

TYR was the first company to introduce a pair of goggles designed to fit a woman's face (the TYR T-72). TYR was also responsible for the famous red bathing suits featured on the hit television series "Baywatch." TYR consults with current and former athletes when developing its products. Swimmers know that TYR is a leader in swimsuits, warm-up suits, and swim training equipment. The TYR Tracer Series is one of the most advanced technical suit lines on the market. The TYR Hurricane wetsuits and the TYR Torque collections include top-of-the-line suits for the competitive swimmer.

TYR has also moved into competitive running equipment. From running shirts to shorts, its apparel is designed with the runner in mind. Built with moisture wicking fabric and antimicrobial material, TYR running apparel is designed to give the athlete the most comfortable, dry clothing on the market.

The name "TYR" is derived from the Norse god of warriors, who is said to have embodied victory and glory. Much the same can be said about the athletes who started TYR. Executive Vice President, Steve Furniss, was an Olympian who competed in the 1972 and 1976 Summer Games, and captained the 76th U.S. Olympic Swim Team.
