  • 6/1/2015 Wish the neck strap was adjustable

3 Review Stars By Triathlon Swimmer

Very well made product.  Would give it 4 or 5 stars except for one problem: The chin/neck strap is very uncomfortable! I bought the largest size available. The head fits great.  I have a head 22.5" circumference and only weigh 150 lbs (8% body fat/no excess) and the strap is too tight. Yes it does stretch as the entire cap is neoprene; however it should have been adjustable.  I'm thinking of cutting it and sewing in velcro attachments since I need a warm (which it is) cap with high visibility for open-water swimming.

    Overall Size: True to size
Chin Strap: Feels too small (should have made adjustable)

  • 7/27/2019 It chokes!

    1 Review Stars By Deedee

I ordered a large and it is too small. The strap choked me so I cut it and use a shoelace as a tie. The visibility in open water is good.

    5 Review Stars By noreaster

I use this for open ocean swimming between 52-60F.

Build quality is excellent. Strap is not too tight, but the way it the cap is cut, I am also able to put the strap behind my head and with a silicone cap over it, it stays in place even in rough seas.

Size L fits my 22.75" head just right.

  • 5/23/2019 Child size - package should say Youth

    1 Review Stars By MaryLee

I'm a short female and bought the Small. It's child size, would fit my 10yr old nephew. Packaging does not say Youth but it should. I own a wetsuit so I am accustomed to tight neoprene. The "hi-vis" is just regular yellow and not technically hi-vis at all.

  • 6/6/2015 Tyr hi vis cap

1 Review Stars By Dennis Korman

I selected the largest size and it was way too small.  I'm 6'3" and 270 and this wasn't even close to fitting.  I also tried the Orco Hi Vis cap -- it was slightly bigger but still not even close.
I have limited computer skills and I find your product return process to be difficult.

  • 9/3/2018 Tight Fit

    3 Review Stars By AlRod

I loved the visibility of this swim cap but even with a haircut, and trying to maintain a smaller ego, the large feels too small. The strap felt it was going give me some serious chafing so I will shop for an extra large and see if that does the trick.

Stays snug on my head and is highly visible. Provides some warmth. Overall, exactly what you would want.

  • 11/17/2017 Cannot breathe

1 Review Stars By Tyler M

I have a 7 1/4" head and a fairly lean face, and even with buying the large this thing is too small. The cap part fits but the strap actually restricts my ability to breath in a normal environment without exerting myself. This will by returned!

  • 4/19/2017 Much too small for a large head

    1 Review Stars By TREE

I would love this cap if it were large enough in the circumference from the top of the head around the chin strap.  It's probably 2" less than the similar dimension of the BlueSeventy thermal cap (the largest size).

About This Brand

TYR

Founded in Southern California in 1985, TYR™ has since developed a reputation for high-quality products and equipment. TYR competition swimwear and triathlon gear have been a dominant force in their respective industries. The company is also known for its TYR goggles, swim apparel, triathlon wetsuits and a wide variety of swimming equipment.

TYR was the first company to introduce a pair of goggles designed to fit a woman's face (the TYR T-72). TYR was also responsible for the famous red bathing suits featured on the hit television series "Baywatch." TYR consults with current and former athletes when developing its products. Swimmers know that TYR is a leader in swimsuits, warm-up suits, and swim training equipment. The TYR Tracer Series is one of the most advanced technical suit lines on the market. The TYR Hurricane wetsuits and the TYR Torque collections include top-of-the-line suits for the competitive swimmer.

TYR has also moved into competitive running equipment. From running shirts to shorts, its apparel is designed with the runner in mind. Built with moisture wicking fabric and antimicrobial material, TYR running apparel is designed to give the athlete the most comfortable, dry clothing on the market.

The name "TYR" is derived from the Norse god of warriors, who is said to have embodied victory and glory. Much the same can be said about the athletes who started TYR. Executive Vice President, Steve Furniss, was an Olympian who competed in the 1972 and 1976 Summer Games, and captained the 76th U.S. Olympic Swim Team.
