  • 9/16/2019 Haphazard sizing

2 Review stars By Ocean Swimmer

These fins are well-made, but the sizing is very frustrating. I wear size 14 (US), so I bought the XXL size (orange), as recommended by the sizing chart. They are really big! I can barely use them, because the extra room makes my foot move in them, and gives me blisters. I would need to wear booties or swim socks to make these work. I suspect the XL size (the next size down) would be too small. These should ideally be sized by foot size (for example, size 10, size 11, size 12, size 13 ...) for them to work well. Too bad!

  • 5/12/2009 Not too sure about these fins

2 Review stars By JP the swimmer

I wear a size 6 women's and it was recommended to size down 1 size. The foot shoe is extremely tight (borderline too small) and I must wear socks so that I don't get sores on my toes. In addition, the flipper part is quite inflexible and I was used to more flexibility in my last pair. These definitely take some getting used to. They do seem to work my legs more though so that's a plus. Not sure if I'd recommend these. I'm still getting used to them and I've swam w/them at least 3 times - 1 hour each time.

  • 2/23/2019 size runs big and the heel is way too wide.

    2 Review stars By B.D,

Fin material is fine but way too big. I ordered the XXL (size chart said for sizes 13-14). I wear a size 14 and there is no way I would be able to keep this on. The heel is not tapered and the rest is wider than a medium width. i

Good fin but was too big for my daughter. Heel is very open and slips right out. Next size down would be too small so had to return.

  • 5/6/2011 Not Like TYR Crossblades

2 Review stars By Wendi S.

We were looking to replace some of our TYR Crossblade swim fins. These Flex Fins different in several ways. The sizes on the Flex Fins are true to size unlike the TYR Crossblades which run small. The Flex Fins have a much longer flipper. It is a 10" fin from the end of the "shoe" which is a different color than the fin. This is at least 3" longer than the Crossblade fin. We also found the "shoe" much less sturdy than the Crossblades and we are worried that it might tear easily.

    2 Review stars By James

I have been looking for a replacement for some 17 year old Coral long solid rubber fins, which lasted through training in high school, college, and afterwards. These fins seemed like the nearest analog, but despite having a good foot pocket fit in length and width the heel well is simply not deep enough for serious training. They will quickly work their way loose during flip turns and even sprints sans turns, though for simple 50m underwater drills they're okay. The rubber seems a bit thin in back as well so I don't see these lasting more than a year or two. Still, I can see these fins benefitting recreational swimmers or boogie-boarders who don't command as much kicking force.

  • 7/13/2009 Didn't like them

2 Review stars By Kathryn T.

The name "Flex fin" is inappropriate: These fins are HEAVY and quite stiff and UN-flexible. They may be good for building muscle, as they take a lot of effort, but for enjoyment, they are poor.
