We intentionally drilled holes in the bottom side of 2 of these lounges in order for them to retain water. We use them on our swim ledge which is 15" deep. They are perfect for this use however after a year in the salt water pool we wish the hinges we stainless steel because of the salt. We just ordered 2 more for use on the pool deck. We have a hole for an umbrella in the swim ledge and that's the perfect place to read a good book and sip on a nice drink in these comfortable lounge chairs.
