Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

I ordered this short in an XL and a 2XL. I normally wear a L and XL in other brands. In this brand the 2XL fit. I am returning the XL. I think it is mainly the string in the waistband that is uncomfortable in the XL. The 2XL is very comfortable and I will keep and use.

Love these shorts! Was reluctant to buy shorts with padding in the crotch, however, after swimming I still want to keep these on and ride the bike or run. Padding is discreet but really helps with the bike.

These triathlon shorts are perfect. They stay up in a pool, have the right amount of padding for the bike and dry out fast for the run. I love that the legs stay down/in place but without tight uncomfortable leg grippers. Some leg grippers are so bad/tight that they give me “muffin thigh”. Not a good look! The waist line hits just right, too. I pair this with a cute triathlon top or cycling jersey and I’m set. And the price cannot be beat! My new go-to short for triathlon AND cycling!
