Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

I like a snug fitting rash guard and this one isn't snug, not available in a smaller size. Sleeves work their way up the arm and don't stay wrist length in use. The fabric feels stiff and more like a polyester/spandex blend rather than nylon/spandex as it was described. It works well for the purpose and is comfortable to swim in. I would but it again especially if it were available in a smaller size.
