    It will do

It was a little smaller than expected and not really well made. The buckle on the strap is hard to use when dry, it can Guly imagine what it will be like wet. Also the price to adjust the length of the safety strap slid right off. Since we are going to need it before I felt another could get here I sewed it in place. So as I said, it will do. Just wouldn’t recommend it.

Great Quality at an Exceptional Value!

I've been using each size of these, for private swim lessons, over the past couple months. The original orange plastic version of these were one of my favorite swim aids as a child, but they always scratched my armpits. And growing older as a Lifeguard were were taught arm swimmies to be unsafe because they are prone to come off. These have no hard edeges that chaffe, and they are not only connected to a good quality rash guard shirt(which is also great UV protection,) but that shirt clips between the legs. And there are 4 air chambers, instead of 2, for added security.

Device Did Not Work As Intended

I bought this for my five year old after reading the first review posted. He is small in size and weight, however, this shirt/device completely FAILED. After feeling confident enough to walk into pool with my husband and myself this weekend he immediately went under water, even with kicking. Checked the floaties and they were inflated fine, he was snug in the shirt and clip and it STILL did not hold him or help him stay afloat AT ALL. I would initiate a return, but I got the vest on sale and it is not worth paying $6 shipping to only get $5 back in credit.

    ||I've been teaching swim lessons with these for a couple months. You may find adding a $5 Back Flotation Device would probably be enough. These are not made to allow any level off swimmer complete buoyancy. I would suggest looking at a Coast Guard Approved swim vest/jacket for that; although these go down to a 1-2 Year Old size, so maybe not even then... FYI - My favorite swim device as a child was something like the Aqua Leisure Deluxe Tot Trainer W/ Safety Strap here at swimoutlet.com, it was my first and I did use it by it self. Then I upgraded to these when that didn't fit anymore.
