  • 11/10/2013 Really good first suit

    4 Review Stars By Juan

This was my first Tech suit. I ordered a 22 but I couldn't put it on. A 24 was better but I felt as if the crotch area was a bit to roomy. I dropped over 2 seconds in my 100 free and 100 breast. I only have used this suit for a club meet and districts (about 6 races) and during regionals (my last 2 races) I noticed the water repellency wore off dramatically. The compression and fit were still great though. Overall I really liked this suit.

  • 6/21/2016 Almost standard 'Tec suit' t for 9-10 yrs old racer!

5 Review Stars By SPEEDO FASTSKIN FSll Jammer Tec Suit

This fastskin suit for both boys & girls seems very popular among the 9-10 yrs old who swim at 'regular year -round swim meets' and regional championship like JO's.  It seems to serve the purpose well for those young 'entry-level of championship' swimmers.
*Sizing:  as usual on 'Tec suit', always tricky until reaching the right size for kid (even same brand!). My boy (5" 70lbs, skinny with muscles) wears 24 (or sometimes 26), and he wears 24 for this Fastskin suit. We got 22 initiately, but there is no way to fit. Way to small.  I got another one as a back up.
After many hours of my research, I also got FINIS FUSE and Bluseventy neroFIT just to compare as those also have good reviews from the 'more experienced swimmers'.  Similar price range, so why not.  But FUSE is clearly required more care, and delicate. So it really makes a sense for me that this suit fits for 9-10, especially boys!

My question is how long, how many times he can wear.  He swam 4 X a half day meet so far.  I can not tell the difference yet.
Our boy qualified National Show Case in FL, and Eastern Zone Championship for this August in NY.  Will see.

(I see some 9-10 kids who wear speedo LZR, Arena's upscale Powerskin suits, but we don't want to get into those business for our 10 years old yet, also we don't want our 10 yrs to start to learn 'relying on' the suit beside focusing the FUNDAMENTAL TECHNIQUE, which is the MOST IMPORTANT things for those ages.
So we think that this is reasonable for our family, and if he turns 13 yrs  old swimming with JO's final, Zone meets and National Showcase final in consistent base, he would need those upper level of suits for sure.)

  • 12/23/2013 Fast Suit

5 Review Stars By D Dolphin

The suit is great and my son dropped times in all four of his events the first time wearing it.  He wears a 28 practice suit and I bought this suit in a 26 which was a perfect fit.  I will be buying this suit again when he wears this one out!

  • 5/21/2016 Great suit for the money

    5 Review Stars By CMM

We bought this suit for my 7th grade son to wear for his middle school swim meets. He is 5'10"and 185lbs and the size 26 we got for him fit perfectly. It looked like it wouldn't fit my 9 year old when he opened it, but 4 minutes later he had it on. He loved the compression and the feel of the suit in the water. Oh, and he did set 2 school records, so it was fast!

  • 8/17/2013 swim fast

5 Review Stars By donald m.

As most swimmers know it is recommended that you order one size smaller than you normally wear.  Definately put the suit on at least once before the day of the meet. It will take a looong time.  Have patience.  I would not recommend putting tech suits on if they are wet.  Even if you are shaved you may rip hairs from your body. True story. Great suit.  Made state cuts in all events that day. Suit was a contributing factor. Will only wear this suit for state or national meets as once they stretch out they are no longer effective.

  • 5/8/2016 30" waist = size 28 for my son

    4 Review Stars By SwimSM

Suit was used for High School League Finals.  Son is 122lbs, 5' 8", 29.5" waist.  26 was recommended (size chart) but way way too small.  Wears a size 30 workout suit.  Size 28 worked (tight) and son complained that thighs band was too tight (but he wore it for the meet which lasted 7 hours).  Good value overall.  Swam faster but can't necessarily attribute it all to the suit vs. taper/shave down.

  • 8/1/2013 Great All Around Suit

5 Review Stars By Rob G

I used this product for a championship meet in the 400 IM and the 200 freestyle. If you haven't worn a technical suit before, you want this to be pretty tight, you want to feel a huge relief when you take it off. If worn right, you should have a line on your legs where the stitchings are on the suit. It's very hydrodynamic and it feels like you just glide through the water as if you are flying in the air. I don't have any bad things to say about this suit. It works great for all strokes and distances. Overall it's a great suit and I would totally recommend it to anyone who asks.

  • 7/24/2015 Good Suit

4 Review Stars By Jason A

The Speedo Fastskin II is one of the most common suits that you will see around the pool deck at a swim meet. I have had mine for 1+ years and it has not fully died yet (no tears/holes), but the water repellency has completely worn off and compression has decreased significantly. It is a very good step up from an entry level tech suit like the Aquablade, providing more compression and greater water repellency. It is by no means a top level tech suit, though.

Size down one from your practice suit (practice 30, FS II 28). Fabric is looser around crotch area which is helpful and allows for freedom of movement. Does not restrict breaststroke kick. Worst part about this suit are the leg holes at the knee. They are so insanely tight, even after 1+ years, that you will leave the meet with red rings above your knees that remain visible for a few hours. You will notice how tight they are during the first wear.

It is my favorite suit for small/medium sized meets - for a championship meet I go to my LZR. For the price, it's very good, and holds up well even after many races. It's a classic.
