  • 2/13/2021 Reasonable fit. Sturdy. Stiff.

3 Review Stars By Jon K.

I bought these to replace a pair of 6 year-old TYR Burner fins that cracked in front.  The XL size was pretty close to what I expected.  They go on and come off about as easily as the Burners as long as I make sure my foot is all the way forward before pulling up the heel.  I immediately noticed the stiffness of these Speedo Biofuse fins the first time I kicked a length with them. I also noticed the stiffness when dong a flip turn and pushing off the wall -- these tend to slip on the wall more often than the Burners if I don't push off exactly straight (which could be good or bad, depending on your point of view). While kicking face-down, I find that they resist more on the downstroke than on the upstroke, tending to move my legs closer to the surface of the water and catching more air.  That's not a big problem, but the air bubbles slow me down a little.  They do the main job I bought them for: providing forward thrust to help stabilize my knee joints while kicking.  When these fins break I'll probably go back to the Burners, though it may be more than 6 years from now given the stiffer material.

My swimming level: I competed from age 8 through high school (made it to Junior Olympics one year) and did some triathlons in my 30s, 40s and 50s.  Now over 60, I swim 2-3 miles a week as a low-impact way to get my heart rate up.

  • 9/10/2014 HEAVY!

2 Review Stars By Douglas B.

This is a heavy fin.  I'm 50 an above average swimmer but not former collegiate.  This fin is flexible on the heel and very heavy from the arch forward.   I have difficulty "driving" this fin.   IMO you would have to be a strong kicker and wanting to work on kicking for a sprint to use this fin.

Sizing went to being larger than expected.

Super comfy , size small fit perfectly (women's size 7.5-8 shoes).  These are my new favorite fins (last pair was burned to the ground with my house)

  • 10/1/2011 AWFUL!

    1 Review Stars By Yeh

I bought these fins to use during practice daily, without knowing how heavy and inflexible they really are. I liked nothing about this product. After 3 months my brother's fell apart, and I wish mine had. Most fins make swimming faster, these actually slowed me down considerably. They cause a ton of stress on my ankles and were so dense that they do not even float.

  • 10/20/2020 Too heavy for older recreational swimmers

    5 Review Stars By John

Tried the fins on to gauge the flexibility and comfort and unfortunately discovered that they weighed approximately a pound and a half each. Not for a 70 plus recreational swimmer. The product did seem of high quality and designed for younger swimmers training.

  • 9/9/2013 Too Heavy

    1 Review Stars By Golden

My son is on a swim team these DID NOT work for him at all as they are way too heavy and they run very wide so no  I would never get this pair again. Luckily swimoutlet is great with us returning things. They are super efficient.

  • 8/11/2013 Heavy

1 Review Stars By John D.

Never got to use these fins in the water as I found them to be thick and heavy. I exchanged them for a pair of Speedo Short Blade Training Fins that are lighter and feel more like the Zoomers I've been using. Since half sizes aren't available (I wear a 9 1/2 shoe), and since I intend to use these fins with a swimming sock I purchased the XL (10-11). It's a snug fit with the sox on. Probably due to the width of my feet. From my experience with swimming fins, ordering a size one up from what you normally wear is the way to go.

  • 8/22/2020 Great swim fins

    5 Review Stars By Steve

I use these fins when swimming laps for exercise. I like them because it improves the exercise on my legs.  Usually 90% of the swimming exercise works on the Arms and shoulders and these fins transfers some of the benefit to the legs.  The fins also keep my legs close to the surface since they float.

  • 7/9/2012 VERY heavy uncomfortable

    1 Review Stars By karin

    use it with kick board
much heavier than my zoomers and the workout doesn't seem to be better.  They are quite uncomfortable.

    don't use them.
