I got these because I'm trying to wean myself off of my dependence on a pull buoy for distance training, and so far I'm very happy with how they help me in that regard. They actually help me improve my whole free-style stroke and kicking efficiency, rather than just focusing above the waist. I normally swim breast stroke for warm up and cool down, but unfortunately, they don't work so well for that stroke, as they are restrictive at the hips, and the higher hip position affects my normal frog kick. The reason I gave 4 (or 4 1/2) stars, is that it would be nice if there was a little more of a pouch in the front - they really cramp my boys down there, if you know what I mean. I am 6' and 190 lbs with a 34" waist, and the Large fits just right otherwise - very snug to get on, but feels like nice compression shorts in the water.

These replaced my pull buoy. I can now kick more efficiently with these than with the pull buoy. They do fit tight. Tighter than my wetsuit. I wish that they came up just a little bit more but when I'm swimming I don't even notice. They have the draw string on them that helps keep them up.

High quality materials. Fit is snug, but comfortable. They do relax a tiny bit in the water, so don’t freak out when you try them on the first time and think you bought a size too small. They actually feel fast in the water... possibly because they’re keeping my hips higher in the water...!
