  • 9/27/2012 Great Suit For The Money

5 Review Stars By Graham T.

So far I have used this suit for some early fall waterskiing. The suit was very warm and worked well. I would definitely recommend this suit.

  • 9/18/2012 Warm Enough For NorCal Coast

    4 Review Stars By Bones

I needed a new wetsuit for surfing in Northern CA water, and previously owned a 5/4/3mm. Decided to try my luck with the Epic II, and was pleasantly surprised at how toasty I was in our frosty coastal waters. Only issue seems to be the zipper, which always hangs up about 1/3 the way up; curious to see if it survives very long. Otherwise, great suit (especially for the price)!

  • 9/16/2012 Epic win for O'Neill

5 Review Stars By Mr. Legit

At 6"2" and 155 pounds size MT fits me perfectly. O'Neill seemed to be the only brand that had a wetsuit cut for my frame. I have not yet had the opportunity to use the suit in water colder than 68 degrees, but am confident it will keep me warm in water down to the 55 degrees listed on the product specs. The super stretch neoprene does not constrict at all no mater what kind of crazy surfing movements I am doing. The only difficulty I have had with the suit is that the neck adjust Velcro gets caught on other parts of the suit and eats it up when you pull it off.

  • 7/18/2012 Great for the money...

    4 Review Stars By kmeier916

O'Neill's sizing is dead on because they give you so many options.  Not going to get any better for the money on a mid level suit.  Keeps me warm for hours in 50 degree water.

  • 2/3/2010 excellent wetsuit!!!

5 Review Stars By dan h.

just tried it out in less than ideal conditions: choppy, windy, and closed out.
water temp 58F, air temp 62F but very windy.

    ***THE GOOD:

-suit kept me very warm, the interior heat panel really performed well.

-suit was very good against the wind, i didn't feel it at all.

-VERY EASY to put on and remove.  the super stretch material seemed to be only on the arms and the lower part of the legs.  my ripcurl 100% super stretch was extremely difficult to put on and remove, by comparison.

-stitching on the wrists prevented flushing.

-openings at the ankles sealed GREAT on booties.

    -lighter than expected

***THE NOT SO GOOD, (some is personal preference)

-no neck gaiter, some water would leak down my back on occasion.  however, i probably could have tightened up the neck closure more, the velcro there is VERY secure.

-metal zipper.  i don't like metal zippers and i don't trust them.  they have a tendency to corrode and fail around salt water.  it was also a bit difficult to use the zipper until i put some silicon lubricant on it.

excellent excellent suit!  i would rate it 4.5 stars because of the lack of neck gaiter.  but it seemed unfair to give it 4 stars instead of 5 for just that one reason.

Jack O'Neill began surfing in 1952, before functional surf apparel was invented. While working for the Army Air Corps, O'Neill discovered neoprene foam in a DC-3 airplane. He then combined the neoprene carpeting with duct tape to create the first neoprene wetsuit.

Demand for O'Neill's neoprene wetsuits grew rapidly and he began a business selling the O'Neill wetsuits out of his garage. By 1980, he was a leader in the beach apparel industry with a thriving business. Since then, O'Neill™ has become a widely recognized and respected brand in the surf industry, continually creating new and innovative products. In addition to O'Neill wetsuits, they carry O'Neill boardshorts, O'Neill dresses, O'Neill hats, O'Neill rash guards, O'Neill swimsuits, O'Neill water shoes, O'Neill sandals, O'Neill life jackets and O'Neill t-shirts.

In addition to his business success, O'Neill also created a non-profit foundation for kids. O'Neill developed the O'Neill Sea Odyssey Program: a free, educational cruise that introduces kids to the microbiology of the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary, beginning at Jack O'Neill's doorstep.
