  • 5/13/2017 Very good

    5 Review Stars By Paul

Very supportive block -- better than foam blocks I've been using at yoga studio

I'm a guy.  Intending to use the blocks for practicing strength poses.

Blocks are surprisingly heavy and slightly larger than yoga studio blocks I'm familiar with.
Blocks are substantial -  and so provide good support.
Blocks take up most of the room in my gym bag.
I'm glad I got the blocks because now I can practice some difficult poses at home.

I feel the blocks are an expensive purchase.   However,  once the investment is made,  the blocks seem like they should last a lifetime.

After two weeks, I  am very satisified with my purchase.    Now if I could just do the poses better!

I love the weight and feel of this block. It's substantial and holds my weight securely. I don't feel like I'm going to fall over like with my old foam blocks. Would definitely recommend!

  • 2/13/2017 4" Cork Yoga Block

    5 Review Stars By blaine

Really nice weight and texture. There are cheaper foam ones in other stores that i looked at but cork is renewable as a resource and also i personally prefer a heavier block for stability. really nice and exactly what i had hoped.

  • 2/20/2017 Great blocks but too heavy for me

    5 Review Stars By Reeree

These are great looking blocks. I bought these at the same time as I bought foam blocks so that I could compare them. Personally, I prefer the less heavy foam blocks.  If you like  a heavier stable block these are terrific.  They were just a bit too heavy for me.

About This Brand

Founded at the turn of the millennium, Manduka® has always been a company that put its customers and the environment above all else. Peter Sterios, an architect turned yogi, stumbled upon a simple, yet elegantly created mat that completely revolutionized the way he practiced yoga. This revelation was the inspiration for the whole Manduka yoga line.

Sterios' creation would not have been possible without the help of his generous yoga teachers. As a form of appreciation he sent a mat to many of the yoga teachers he admired including Rod Stryker, Erich Schiffmann, Victor Van Kooten, Angela Farmer, Rodney Yee, and Shiva Rea. As a traditional practice in yoga, these teachers shared these mats with their students and from there the word spread.

Manduka, derived from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika pose, Mandukasana, is named as a tribute to Sterios' yoga mentor, Shandor Remete. The delight he took in hearing the word roll of his tongue helped him solidify the faith he had in his new company. From there the joy has spread to over 35 countries worldwide.

More than anything though, Manduka's commitment to quality and sustainability is unmatched in the yoga industry. Every detail and every decision is made with sustainability in mind. Manduka wants their customers to not only find peace with themselves, but their environment as well. Products like the Manduka eKO Lite Yoga mat, the eQua Hot Yoga Towel, demonstrate just how committed they are to sustainability.

Manduka understands that yogis of all levels come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share similar core values. Beyond just being eco-friendly, is the spirit and wisdom that yoga teachers and their students emanate. Yoga is more than just exercise on a mat, it's a way of life. Manduka embraces this idea and lets it shine through all their yoga products.
