1 Review Stars By Jennifer Klubnik

I made sure to warm these up in my hand, kneading it thouroghly and ever warming them up with the hand dryer. Despite repositioning and re-pushing them back in place, they still wouldn't stay, letting water in my ears.

  • 5/22/2018 Easy to spot!

4 Review Stars By Morning Mermaid

I've used regular non-putty silicone earplugs for swimming for years. Mine were getting pretty grungy but when I looked I couldn't find the same product so I thought I'd try this molded putty type. I have pretty small ears so I got the kids size, which was a wise move--they are plenty big for my ears. They stay in and keep the water out better than I expected. If I drop one in the water it is very easy to spot!  When I go to take them out small pieces break off sometimes if I am not careful but I just changed the way I take them out and it seems to work. Generally I am pretty happy with them.

  • 9/24/2011 Not so great for younger children

    3 Review Stars By Elsa

Comfortable fit, but not great for younger children. Earplugs kept falling out durning swim class creating distraction among the kids. Wish there where a way to hold the plugs in place.

  • 10/27/2016 Designed for Kids

    4 Review Stars By Peter

These are the only earplugs that I found specifically designed for kids.  They are smaller than the usual wax earplugs which are too big for children.  They work the same as any wax earplugs do.

They work great and don't come out while swimming.  They can also be cut in half if to big.

Worked as advertised.  Our daughter has tubes in her ears and we were planning a snorkeling trip to the Florida Keys.  These helped keep her ears high and dry, when they stayed in.
These are not foam inserts, but rather a puddy type cap for the ear canal.  You pull out one disk and smash onto the ear, right above the ear canal, shaping it to fit your ear.  Then repeat for the other side.
The disks are slightly tacky, think 3M Post It Note, but I wish they were more aggressive in this.  They will fall out if your child is active in the water, diving, splashing, ect, or if you handle them to much.  Once wet, they do not want to stay in.  Also do not get suntan lotion on them or near the ear canal.
I shaped a small bump to insert in the ear canal, even though it is not recommended, to help hold them in place.  We also bought the head band which helped greatly.
For bath time we just use foamies, but with her head submerged, we wanted the canal to be blocked, and these worked great for that.

About This Brand

Swimming is a wonderful exercise, and Mack's Ear Care helps to prevent swimmer's ear and other maladies. In 1962, rising symphony orchestra musician Ray Benner collaborated with an almost-retired pharmacist who was interested in selling earplugs. Benner, an avid swimmer, diligently worked and created the first silicone earplug- and aptly changed the name to the more aesthetic Mack's Pillow Soft Ear Plugs. Mack, the name of the previous owner, has expanded their product line to encompass several different types of ear protection products.
