  • 12/10/2017 Don't waste your money on other audio players, buy this one

    5 Review Stars By Ron

I tried numerous other devices to swim with music. I used multiple different earplugs and all of them would fill with water and then I couldn't hear the music. I then found this product and my problem was solved. That said, at first, I had the device in front of my ears and my goggles would leak. I reached out to the company and they suggested that I move the device behind my ears and now no leaks and I love this product!

  • 3/30/2017 Frustrating to charge

1 Review Stars By Barbara Fortune

I have had a number of these and I find it very difficult to charge.  I even got a new charging card because the prongs broke and one prong is again broken.  I plug it in and it either turns on the music or nothing happens.  I think the magnetic connection just does not work.  It downloaded about 12 songs and disconnected. Last week I thought I fully charged it and only bot 3-4 hours.  I'm getting tired of the same songs over and over.

It produces wonderful sound underwater! You have to convert your standard music format to MP3 or  wave format. However, the instructions were clear on how to operate the device.

  • 3/13/2017 Great when it works, sucks when it doesn't

1 Review Stars By kebn v.

I have bought this product twice and don't want to buy it a third time.  Both versions (I had the original) were so incredible when they worked, and they worked flawlessly.  A little tech heavy to figure out at first but after time it was no trouble.  The issue was they just don't last, and I too treat them very gently.  When I first bought them there was no competition, they were the only ones on the market.  I front crawl 95% of the time and do 1/2 hour workouts, talk about boring, which is why I loved these, but can't afford a new pair every couple years.  Maybe a few more generations and I will try them again...or maybe a different brand.

It was trivial to transfer my MP3s to this product.  FINIS has modified the goggle clip feature which makes it a little hard to attach to goggles when they're  already on your head, so I keep the Duo attached to my goggles and put on the whole thing together when I swim.  The charging connection is now a simple external magnetic connection - I had some problems making good connections with previous models.  Hopefully this works better, but I really haven't had the Duo long enough to verify.  Sound quality and features are sufficient and as I expected.

  • 1/15/2016 Makes long lap swimming enjoyable!

4 Review Stars By David M.

I tried another more common type of MP3 player in the past where the sound comes out of ear buds that have adjustable sizes.  However, if any water got in my ear, I could no longer hear the music.  Plus, as I have Swimmer's Ear, I really need to wear ear plugs and the ear buds could never keep out the water adequately.  I knew about the Finis bone induction player for a couple of years and after a few long 4000+ yard sessions during last season, I vowed I would get one for the next.  Another person swimming next to me had one too and when I put a sound paddle next to my jaw, the music playing sounded really clear!  So, I purchased the Duo since it was essentially an upgrade from the Neptune.  And it's pretty much as advertised!  I have clear sound while swimming laps and it's pretty easy to operate though that took a little getting used to.  As my Barracuda Sworkel has a wider strap than most goggles, it does take a bit to fit the Duo on.  However, it still stays in place pretty well.  Easy enough to transfer songs from my computer too, with one caveat that detracts from giving this 5 stars.  Another reviewer mentioned this as well in that even with the magnetic USB, one has to hold the Duo's paddle in place somehow so the connection is solid.  It's just too loose otherwise and it won't transfer music.  It seems to charge okay like that but what I ended up doing was just having a heavier object sit on top to make a better USB connection.  I'll probably rubber band it next time or perhaps use some sort of clip to hold it firmly to the USB station.  I don't know why the USB charger/transfer station doesn't clip the paddle in like my Garmin 920 XT does.  Might write to Finis about that.  Otherwise, I'm pleased so far using the Duo listening to clear music during my longer lap swimming sessions.  I'll be glad I have it when I have to do those 4000+ ones during the summer.

  • 11/22/2017 I like the Duo

5 Review Stars By Ray A Van Ostran

This is the third one I have purchased.  I suspect that one of them did not work because I did not understand how to use it.  However the first one I got worked for a while and quit.  The last one I bought I contacted the company and received tech support.  I think this one will work out well.  I was able to return the other two for a complete refund.  I really like being able to swim and listen to music, which is why I tried more than once to use this product.

  • 2/9/2016 Works great!

    4 Review Stars By Christos

I agree with David M's review, check that one out as I have similarities I would have written about. Bass is indeed missing, but I too NEED earplugs and none of the other eardrum-located buds kep the water out for more than a lap or two. 3 swims in & I'm pretty happy, don't try to playlist this one, just dump everything in it that you might want to listen to.

  • 11/21/2017 Love 'em - game changer

    5 Review Stars By Jason

So far so good. I've only had the Finis MP3 player about a month but love that they don't go inside your ear. The sound is fantastic and controls intuitive. Previously I had a waterproof iPod shuffle but the ear buds wouldn't allow me to do flip turns. Now w/ this design I can do flip turns whilst jamming to fav tunes.

The sound is incredible, go figure.

  • 12/16/2016 Great Item

    5 Review Stars By Johnboy

Great product, and it is as described.  Quick ship.  They recommend ear plugs and
so do I.  Without ear plugs the volume changes as your ears travel  in and out of the water.   With ear plugs it is a great experience.
