My daughter is a husky 9 and half year old. She is also 4' 8" tall. That being said, I thought the fin would work great for her. It took some practice getting the fin where she could keep it on in the water. The heel strap kept slipping! I finally figured the strap has to be looped through the buckle TWICE. She can now swim 25 meters before it comes off. I think she is going to have to grow into it. My daughter loves it very much!!

These fins looks and works great if you have a concrete pool or in a pond/creek. The problem is that they are very sharp and if you have a soft pool liner, they WILL puncture it. It's not really a question of how careful you are, the movement of the fin is such that they scrape along the sides and bottom of the pool and puncture it.
