PRODUCT DETAILS

  • The principal function of the DMC Silicone Fin is to enable anyone from a novice to an Olympic standard swimmer to achieve an exact balanced kick, while using their preferred armstroke. As well as strengthening and toning the muscles, using the fins during swim training gives the legs neuro-muscular memory so that when the swimmer then swims without fins, they kick more effectively.

    High Quality Performance

    • The DMC Silicone Fins have been specifically designed to be molded in silicone, as opposed to rubber because silicone does not cause blisters as rubber is prone to.
    • Helps keep the feet below the surface - essential when kicking correctly because of silicone material.
    • Resistant to tearing and splitting.
    • UV proof.

Hours of Research for Your Comfort

    • Shape of the foot pockets have had considerable research conducted to find optimal shape.
    • Dedicated left and right foot fins.
    • Exceptional comfort.
    • Greatly reduce the incidence of cramps.
    • Heel strap has ankle cut-outs to prevent chafing.
    • Edges of the foot cavity are rounded to prevent chafing.

    Less Resistance for Faster Swimming

    • Underside of the foot area has non-slip tread pattern which makes walking round the pool less hazardous.
    • Tumble turns (or Flip-Turns) and diving are safer too.
    • Designed to create the least possible resistance to the kick action.
    • No potential nuisance of the fins bumping together while swimming, or walking.

    Ultimate Fit and Functionality

    • Sufficiently stiff to function effectively and channel water along the blade.
    • Hydro Sportz have patented fins.
    • Unique shape of rails gives the product its distinctive appearance and cannot be copied.
    • Each of the 5 sizes has a different blade/foot area ratio to make sure that it is correct for each person's size.
    • Smaller sizes have proportionally longer blades relative to the foot pocket length to create the correct thrust.

  • 7/23/2014 The best fins!

5 Review Stars By Karen Holloway-Adkins

These fins feel good on and really have improved my kicking. Besides - they make you go and feel fast! Probably one of the more expensive fins on the market but they are well worth it!

  • 2/23/2010 Fabulous Fins!

5 Review Stars By Linda R.

These are the first pair of fins that fit my feet!  I wear a women's 8 wide shoe and had a difficult time finding fins that would fit comfortably.  The Hydro Tech 2 Swim Finz are perfect for me.  I swim on a masters swim team and am currently doing exclusively kicking workouts due to recent shoulder surgery.  These fins perform beautifully and without pain!  I ordered the Medium fin size and couldn't be happier.  I received this order two days after ordering.  I was very happy with the service from SwimOutlet as they also answered my e-mailed questions.

  • 3/24/2010 Definitely comfortable fins

    4 Review Stars By Delphis

I had researched fins for months and decided on these.  First, the sizing is tricky.  I am a men's shoe size 10 so I ordered the L size (10-11).  This pair was just a bit too big, my feet moved around inside and this size might really be for a men's shoe size 10 1/2.  So the next size smaller is ML (meant for men's 8-9).  I now have these and had to make a small adjustment by enlarging the small drain hole near the toes as my middle toes were pressed up against this area.  But once I did this, the fins feel like they are custom made for my feet, no rubbing because the silicone is really smooth.  These are indeed heavy fins, you will get a great leg workout.  Although excellent for endless laps, they are however not as fast as I had hoped (short style blade that is fairly flexible) and I am now ordering the (USLA - United States Lifesaving Assoc. approved and US patented) "Da Fin" from their website as Swimoutlet has been out of these for many months.  In summation, the comfortable Tech 2 silicone is the best reason to order the these, size and speed issues are secondary.  These are a superlative pair of fins.

  • 9/9/2013 Great new fin design

5 Review Stars By Cris M.

I swim with a Masters group and our coach recommended these (no more Zoomers ). Love the way the legs kick in these, I can feel it up and down the whole leg.
I ordered my shoe size and they were too big so I exchanged them for the next size down and these fit perfect.

  • 4/7/2010 Great training/exercise fins

4 Review Stars By Denise J.

I ordered these to replace my Zoomers (kept getting cramps in 2 toes) because they have a different feel, modling, design. I love them. While moving faster through the water, I feel it more in my quads and hams (without cramping my toes). However, because of my narrow foot/thin skin, I did get a rub mark across the top of just one foot (go figure). Even with the swim socks (same thing happened with the Zoomers so I know it's me and not the fins) the rub mark/wound appeared. A little extra padding/cushioning on my part and I will use these until they fall apart. Not likely to happen. Great purchase (though would LOVE to see it in a "narrow" width)..

  • 8/29/2013 I love my DMC fins

    5 Review Stars By DLA

I swim laps at the Y with these fins - 1 mile (70+ pool lengths) , 4X per week.  I had tried four other (cheaper ) fins via Amazon.  I couldn't wear any of those for more than 15-20 laps before they started irritating my feet, wearing sores or rub spots.  I returned them all.  I decided to try one more time, this time spending bigger bucks.  It was worth the money.  The silicone rubber is "full-foot" and reasonably soft.  These fins don't irritate my feet.  Size 10-11 was perfect (just a little loose) for my size 10 feet.  If you are a lap swimmer, try 'em, you will like 'em.

  • 7/26/2010 Quite good

    4 Review Stars By Haven

I was Ocean Rescue for 8 years and have been a surfer all my life... I ordered the XL because normally the L is too small for my 11.5 wide feet. The XL fit a bit loose, but it's perfect with a fin sock (Body Glove Flipper Slipper).

Material is soft and comfortable. Appears to be very well made and durable.

These have a shorter blade than most fins I've used and thrust seems to suffer a bit. The silicone material also flexes a lot more than rubber fins.

I like the fins, as they are just what I wanted. Not the speediest of fins, but definitely good for swimming or small to medium sized wave bodysurfing.

  • 8/16/2013 VG Fins

    4 Review Stars By texazsam

In general, I think these are VG fins.  They have given me blisters, however, but far less times than with other types of fins.  I have decided to use fin socks which are great.  When using the socks with the fins, I have had no blisters, however, it makes the fins tighter since there is more bulk but I bought the fins a little bigger than my usual size anyway as my size was N/A at time of purchase.  As far as the training aspect, there was a difference in my calf muscles being used more when I first started using them.  However, I still don't move any more forward in the water wo the fins than what I did previously, so I don't know if the training aspect is viable. In summary, these are great fins--less blisters and not sure about the training hipe.

  • 9/24/2009 Very happy with these fins!

5 Review Stars By Michael S.

I use these fins for body boarding and had an older pair for a couple of years. Unfortunately, I lost one several weeks ago and ordered these as replacements. THESE FINS DON'T FLOAT! I went into the ocean last weekend to try our my new Tech 2's, and I was really impressed! Compared to my older ones, these have a slightly different design and are made of a softer material, making them more comfortalbe. I couldn't believe how easy it was to swim with these! The angle seems just right and I was amazed at how fast I could go with so little effort. I love them and recommend them highly!

ABOUT THIS BRAND

DMC Swim

Don McCredie was a Professional firefighter and an active member of his local Surf Life Saving Club at Coogee Beach, NSW, Australia. He was also a strong swimmer who competed in many different sporting events and in 1983 won the title of the World Surf life Saving Bodysurfing Champion. Through these endeavors, and after several trips to Hawaii in the mid 80’,s while competing regularly in Bodysurfing contests, he became interested in water flow and fluid dynamics. Don’s idea was to design and create a type of swim propulsion fin that would revolutionize his chosen sport. The Hydro Fins were born.

Calls to an established high quality rubber company initiated the process of the fins intimate production. The rubber company produced molds and manufactured the product for export to Australia and the USA, Japan and Europe. Don travelled extensively to secure distributors for his one and only product – and due to its unique patented qualities and performance, gained sales and recognition worldwide. Since then over a million pairs of Hydro Fin products have been sold in over 20 countries in several different models of which have updated since the original design. Hydro Fins are now manufactured in the world’s largest rubber swim fin factory.

The Hydro brand was sold and Don started Dmcswim.com. His swimming knowledge and product innovation has combined to create the DMC Swim Fins and a line of swimming products that would suit the new beginner through to the serious aquatic athlete. Don is now a qualified swim coach and trains local swimming athletes of all ages using his own unique methods and training aids born of the DMC Swim range. All around the world, top class swimmers are turning to DMC Swim Fins for their choice of training fins and training aids.
