Purchased for kayaking trips. The sole is thick enough and has enough grip to feel confident clambering about on rocky beaches. True to size. I am size 11 and have high arched boxy feet. As other reviewers have noted it does require some effort to slip them on but once they are on the toe box is roomy and overall fit is very comfortable with no evidence of chafing about the ankles, the snugness around the ankles actually was helpful in minimizing entry by sand and pebbles (no rocks in my shoes is good). I have slipped them on dry and wet with more effort required when wet and have not noticed any shifting or bunching of the removable sole liner. They drain very well so I never feel like I am slogging around with a foot full of water. They dried as well as I would expect for the amount of material involved (the removable liners are a plus for overnight drying on a clothesline - just remove them). The monotone gray color is pretty boring and utilitarian, not sure why jaunty two tone nautical color schemes wouldn't be available, however, for the price point and the quality of materials I can over look color. So far I haven't noticed any manufacturing defects in the shoe that might cause premature failure. In a nutshell this is a good shoe for the purpose I have chosen them for and would recommend them.
