  • 10/13/2020 Excellent short!

    4 Review Stars By BLav

I’m a big fan of these shorts.  They have an excellent pad in them. I can ride on the road for 2 hours before I even start to feel the seat.  They are compression shorts so they go on quite tight, however, as you ride they mold to you until they feel like a supportive second skin.  The only flaw I find with them is that if you carry your excess weight in your belly area, the waist band is tight and a a bit unforgiving.

I’m 6’ tall, 210 lbs and wore a size large.  The XLs were more comfy in the waist, but loose enough so that the pad shifted around.  Size large was ultimately a better fit for my body type.

  • 5/31/2020 decent pair of short. a little pricey and fits tighter than most mediums

good stiching qual. leg openings grip well but don't grab leg hairs. fits a little too tight. but generally good.

  • 5/14/2020 good basic shorts - run a little small

good entry level shorts. fit VERY tight for a medium (compared to other brands), I think this is just an issue with Castelli. I think the tight fit will chill out once I wear them on on more than 10 rides. material quality is good. leg opening grippers very comfortable.

About This Brand

Castelli has a rich history dating back multiple decades in the cycling community. In the 1940s, Armando Castelli, an Italian tailor, designed clothes for Gino Bartali, a famed cyclist. Designing clothes for Gino Bartali proved to be the catalyst for Armando Castelli's career. As a result of designing for a famous cyclist, one of Bartali's cycling rivals, Fausto Coppi, asked Armando Castelli to design a jersey that would make him faster in competitions. Castelli agreed and produced the first-ever silk cycling jersey.

Ever since, Castelli has become a true pioneer within cycling clothing production. Armando Castelli constantly thought about how he could improve his products which led to adding special details such as collars, pockets, and zippers. In 1977, Castelli made another innovation: the first Lycra cycling short. With a constantly evolving company, Castelli continues to create superior cycling clothing that boasts the latest technology.
