I have used split vision goggles for the past 6 years or so, Speedo Raceview and Arena Swedix. I decided to try these because of the price. I have had my first pair for four months.

Pros: Good overall anti-fog, better then Swedix. Solid straps, better than having to order a second pair of straps in lieu of the factory set on Swedix. Great field of view. The lenses stay clearer longer than Swedix.

Cons: Painful at first. Took some time to get used to a new fit, as these hurt my eye sockets. After two weeks, they were fine. They goggles are shallow in depth and my eyelashes touch the lenses on the inside which has given me a twitch in my eyelids. YMMV on this condition.

Overall: I will try a second pair, despite my eyelid twitch. The field of view is better than Swedix, the straps are better, the longevity of the lenses is better, and the price is cheaper. For outdoor swimming with bright sunlight, I may stick with Swedix because I cannot see imperfections in the anti-fog lenses as much as I can when using clear goggles indoors. Swedix goggles lose their anti-fog and clarity after two weeks, this pair remains well into month four.

About This Brand

An industry pioneer in innovation and design, Barracuda is passionate about designing and producing products that enhance the swimmer’s experience in the water. From triathletes in Kona and seniors at the YMCA to swim team members grinding through their daily workouts, all rely on the comfort, fit, and effectiveness of Barracuda’s remarkable breakthroughs.

Dr. John Runckel, founder and inventor of Barracuda, began swimming for fitness in 1978. The only swim goggles he could find depended on suction and dug into the soft tissue around the eye. Ordinary suction goggles were — and still are — shaped like small cups with flat rims. They don’t fit nor do they feel good; they leak and leave red circles around the eyes. A dentist and inventor who had marketed a line of dental products, Dr. Runckel combined his knowledge of plastics and facial anatomy with some casting techniques similar to those used in dentistry. The result was a goggle frame that fits because it follows the bone contour around the eye socket. The frame was patented in 1979.

Along with their signature goggles, Barracuda provides the very best is swim, pool, and beach accessories that strive to make your time in the water the best it can be.
