  • 6/18/2012 cute, but back not as low as I thought, bunches up

Love the fabric and style. The back is higher than I thought and doesn't look as good from the back. Fabric bunches up at the top in back.

This bathing suit is good quality.  I would say it runs pretty true to size.  I usually order larger in suits and it fit very well.

  • 5/9/2012 Not for curvy 8+ women!

1 Review Stars By Ra N.

After reading the reviews, I thought for sure this was going to be perfect.  Especially because I am a size 8 with a 36D bust and the one of the reviewers described herself similarly.  I purchased the 10. I tried on the suit and it is anything but flattering!  The tummy control part really doesn’t do anything much and the bust is not made for larger busted women.  It totally flattened my bust and the whole suit made me look like a yellow sausage in casing!  The only thing good about this suit is the length.  This is recommended if you already have a thin build and just a “little” pouch.  Definitely not for curvy/busty sizes 8+.   I am returning this today.  I ordered the Carol Wior Classic Tie Front Swim Dress - Black/White – size 8 at the same time and I am in love!  I wrote a review on that one, too, so please check it out!

  • 2/12/2012 Adorable!

    5 Review Stars By dsyfert

Great styling.  Wore it on a large cruise ship....never saw another person in anything even close!  Lots of comments on how cute it is.  You can pull the bottom down a bit if you want more coverage, or scrunch it up a bit if you want to show a little more.  Really cute!

  • 12/15/2011 ADORABLE!!!!!!

    5 Review Stars By LC

This is such an adorable swimdress. I searched everywhere for something like this and this style is so hard to come by. My biggest problem with skirt dresses is either the skirt doesn't really cover the tush or the skirt isn't particularly feminine ... this has both qualities.

It comes with a strap to hold it up when you are swimming, but it stayed up for me with no problems without wearing the strap, which was great for sunbathing and walking around on the beach. I have a very large bust (about 36DD/36DDD depending on bra) but I wear a size 8/10 pant size. I purchased the 14 initially, based on the recommendation of a male customer service agent (not!), but it was absolutely huge!

Customer service was excellent and when I called regarding a return and my dilemma, they sent out another one to me with expedited shipment (I was leaving for vacation within the week) at no additional charge. I ended up buying and keeping the size 10 and it was perfect.

One thing I should mentioned, when it gets wet, the dress stretches and can be worn even longer ... I personally didn't mind this a bit, but you could still hike it up a bit if you wanted to wear it close to your bumm. The rouching made this possible and the dress always looked great.

I especially loved the color and the polka dots!

More From ATHENA

In 1981, Marta Bhathal and her family visited Greece for the first time where she was inspired by the story of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, strength, and the arts. The name was perfect for a new swimwear line that would focus on elegant and contemporary looks for the growing women's swimwear market.

It didn't take long for Hollywood and the social elite to gravitate toward ATHENA. From Kim Cattrall (who initially modeled the line) to Elizabeth Taylor to Ivana Trump, high profile trend setters donned our stylish silhouettes and top sellers. In 2001 Athena's photo shoot was featured as a "behind-the-scenes" segment on the newly launched television network, E! Entertainment Television. Athena continued gaining prominence in editorial features including a Vogue spread with Amber Valetta and a Shape cover showcasing red-hot Rebecca Romijn.

Athena today is all about flattering fit, California made, and forever fun. It’s known as a best-selling collection made for fit and comfort and the perfect elements to shape, slim, and enhance. Athena has bridged the gap between youthful and fashionable swimwear for today’s woman.
