  • 1/13/2021 Poor product with unacceptable breathing resistance

    1 Review Stars By Glindy

I’ve got nothing good to say about this product or the manufacturer. In the water, there is a huge anoint of resistance to inhalation and exhalation. It’s so bad that it basically renders the snorkel completely useless.
I’ve tried to contact the manufacturer about this and those efforts have been ignored.

  • 6/12/2020 Works great

    5 Review Stars By richard

When I first saw this I knew I had to have it.  It finally arrived and I took the advise of just casually using it to breathe for about 4 minutes, as directed.  Good advise!  It takes a bit of getting used to as the effort to breathe is slightly higher than with a normal snorkel; I'm sure because of the valve situation in this device.  But it worked great!  I got comfortable with it pretty quickly and can't wait to start training with it.

  • 12/31/2019 Fantastic Air Intake but Some Effort to Expel

    5 Review Stars By ratchettt

This item is unique.  I have been using the Michael Phelps snorkel for years and love it, but was intrigued with this design when I saw it.  Major pluses are great quality construction, phenomenal comfort in headband and mouthpiece, and huge volume of air available for intake. The only negatives for me are the extra pressure required to exhale and the noise and turbulence in my ears when air is expelled.  I am keeping it, but find I predominately use the Phelps snorkel.  I give it 5 stars because I am a novice swimmer ( though daily ) and believe the negatives might not exist for a more advanced competitor.

  • 12/19/2019 has its good points, but also has some drawbacks

    3 Review Stars By MichiganDan

all they say about it is true:  constant fresh air, comfortable fit.  They don't tell you about how much more effore/strength it takes to breath... it takes much more breathing muscle to suck in a breath of air because the one-way valves at the top of the snorkle require a significant amount of your muscle power to operate/open and allow fresh air in.  After using the Powerbreather in lap swiming several times I feel the product is not worth the hundred dollar price tag and would just buy the standard center-snorkle for lap swiming.

About This Brand

AMEO

In the beginning there was the vision of an enthusiastic swimmer. Mathias Weigner, a specialist in German studies living on the Balearic Islands, wished nothing more than ?man moving easier and freely? in water. He developed the idea for a breathing apparatus perfectly molding to the head and providing the swimmer with fresh air at all times. The POWERBREATHER idea was born.

This was years ago. A revolutionary idea takes more than one person believing in it for becoming reality: developers and product designers, investors and experienced managers. With AMEO a confident, interdisciplinary team is backing the POWERBREATHER today. A company run by enthusiastic, active athletes who have come together to launch meaningful and beneficial products in the market, AMEO is united in their enthusiasm for the POWERBREATHER and the potential it offers to athletes of all classes. They aim to give swimmers, triathletes, and snorkelers a very new feeling of freedom in the water, while at the same time encouraging people to stretch their limits and discover new horizons?in the pool and beyond.

AMEO is headquartered in Starnberg near Munich, Germany. Its home is in the Bavarian ?Five-Lake Region?? the region with one of the finest landscapes where one can swim in open water.
