AN ALTERNATIVE PERSPECTIVE ON THE EVERYDAY: Introducing the Sporti x aLILscribble Collection
San Antonio-based, multidisciplinary artist aLILscribble swims in her own lane with the launch of SwimOutlet’s latest collab, the Sporti x aLILscribble Collection. The second installation in the Sporti Artists Series, the Sporti x aLILscribble collab plays with both pattern and texture, resulting in a collection that is minimalist yet undeniably impactful.
aLILscribble, known to her friends as Alannah Tiller, sees the world through her own lens, constantly reimagining the spaces she’s in to create her one-of-a-kind pieces of art. In her own words, “it all started with a lil’ scribble.”
“Your creativity isn’t limited to a canvas. I draw inspiration from everywhere; pop culture, online, the people and objects in my everyday life. They stimulate a response. And through the use of bold imagery, color, form and crisp line work, my art amplifies these otherwise mundane objects into something unique and beautiful,” says Alannah.
The Sporti x aLILscribble Collection reflects Alannah’s signature, individualistic style, debuting three designs across classic Sporti silhouettes that are both abstract and simple at the same time - Polka Dot Desert, Summer Heat and the Divide. Rendering minimal portraiture techniques over organic shapes, each design is reflective of the artist’s Texas roots, pulling influence from the natural, organic colors of the southern landscape alongside that unmistakable, desert heat.
Most importantly, the collection, as does all of aLILscribble’s work, champions solidarity, strength and diversity, pillars that are paramount to the Sporti brand and community. Moreover, a portion of proceeds from the Sporti x aLILscribble Collection will be donated to Tankproof, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth in under-served communities by providing access to community, education and the essentials needed to navigate life’s currents. From quality swim instruction to feeding hundreds on their neighborhood food routes, Tankproof believes that swimming is a vital life skill and should be available to all regardless of income or background, helping to make communities safer and save countless lives.
“I’m so excited to see my work on this new canvas. I’m constantly finding new surfaces to put my work on and the Sporti x aLILscribble collab allows me to do just that. I can’t wait to see these images in out in the world, activated in water and coming to life just below the surface,” says Alannah.
