December Interscholastic Coach of the Month Award

Coaches are the backbone of any swim team and frequently the unsung heroes of an athlete’s success. They are the instructors, motivators, teachers and role models for many young athletes and swimmers. That’s why it’s important that partners with organizations like the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA). Every month, we recognize a different coach around the country for their tireless devotion to our sport and its athletes with our Coach of the Month Award.

This month’s Coach of the Month spotlights Seth Jansen, a 5-year coaching veteran at Holy Cross High School in Convington, KY. Congrats!

    Name: Seth Jansen
    School: Holy Cross High School
    City: Covington, Kentucky
    Years Coaching: 5
Biggest Team Success: Hosting the first meet in the history of the program. The 1st Annual Holy Cross Invitational was held in December 2013, and happened to be the first meet that the girls' team has ever won in the history of the program.
Favorite Thing About Coaching: Seeing how a small victory can energize an entire team and motivate them to build on that first success.
Favorite Drill for Your Team: Finger-tip drag to control the flailing arms of beginning swimmers.

    Congratulations, Coach Seth!

Check back next month for our next Interscholastic Coach of the Month.
