Nike Hydra

Fast, fluid, sleek, and streamlined. With Nike's mission to create the world's fastest world championship swimsuits, the Nike Advanced Innovation Team took their inspiration from the aerodynamic suits worn by speed skaters and track & field athletes. First, the team incorporated "Body Mapping" throughout the garment to work harmoniously with the athlete's unique motion in the water.

Next, Nike designers reduced or eliminated seams in front, moving them to the back of the garment and out of key areas of water flow. This eliminates drag through innovative construction and a reduction in the number of seams. They also created areas of zoned tension to reduce turbulence around the chest and back. Nike Swim technology (patent pending) restricts stretch to keep fabric closer to the body. Reduces water collection and turbulence around chest and lower back and is scientifically proven to reduce drag compared to traditional swim suits.
