Very Sturdy, But A Little Bulky!
My 6 month old uses this in the pool. He easily sits down into it and it keeps him floating. Not that I'd ever leave him unattended. but I have no fear about the stability of him in this (then again, he is a very big 6 month old -- 22 lbs -- so that makes a bit of a difference, too). It was a pain to blow up, but it has stayed quite well inflated after a few weeks of use. The only downfall to this is that he sometimes gets lazy and lets his face drop down into the water, and there is no way to prevent that from happening. So if your baby has questionable head control, this might not be the best thing for you. Otherwise, it is working out very well for us to enjoy time in the water, comfortably, in this.
I baby sit my grandson who is 20 months old and very active. This keeps him low enough in the seat that he can't attempt to climb out. We were concerned about his safety but this device allows us the security of letting him float in the water while still being able to enjoy our new pool. The gauge of material is very good and we think it would be almost impossible for a child to over turn in this device because of the the four sided baffles.
so far, we have only used this in a large tub! however, my 10 month old felt totally safe and he loved jumping around in it. Another friend's 2 year old enjoyed playing on it so much on dry land that we gave it to her and ordered another. The wings definitely remove the possibility of tipping over and the high back is good for wobbly heads.
my son is only 4 months old and this fits him perfectly! he truly enjoys it. it is sturdy enough to support him and myself as i use it as a "kickboard" with him in it while i swim laps. the head and body support are great for little ones, all around great design and materials used for construction appear to be high quality. certainly worthwhile using!!!
We bought this for our Grandaughter who is a year old. We have used other floaties for her. The only negative thing is she sat REALLY low in it... which scared her a little, she was so deep in the water. Some floaties keep babies a little higher up. The positive is that it was very stable. Did not feel tippy at all.
