Although you do not get the feeling of 'speed' as with standard fins, these fins will work your muscle groups in balance and gives a harder leg workout in less time
I couldn't believe the amount of resistance these put on my leg muscles. I have been swimming for a few months to compete in a few triathlons this summer. Love the workout these give me. My lower body swim muscles are coming along more rapidly by using these in a few sets of my training.
Feel lightweight and comfortable in the water; much more so than the traditional training fins. These are by far the best of the three pair of training fins I own. More than the others, these feel as though they are a part of my foot, gave me zero blisters/hot spots, and I love the strap verses the full foot.
I use these to improve my kick most sessions. A sore shoulder has meant that I've been kicking a mile on my back each morning, with no problems at all. They're not too long, so tumbleturns and pushoff are easy. You still have to work the kick, which might not be the case with a longer fin.I'm an 11, and these feel great, not too loose, not too tight. For others, the choice of only Large or Medium could be an issue. A greater range of sizes would earn a 5th star.
I use the swim fins for lap swimming three to four times a week. I swim a mile each time alternating between the crawl and backstroke. I enjoy using the fins because they enhance my workout and it makes the swim more fun because I am moving faster through the water.
I've been lap swimming for 20 years. I wear these to increase work load while kicking and lap swimming. I like them so far and can get more of a workout in a shorter time when using them. They also help correct foot position when kicking, which is nice for people with loose ankles. I wear a women's USA size 8.5 wide and the blue/medium fit fine. Don't know why but one rubbed a cut onto the top of my foot. I wrap that foot with a self-adhesive, resuable Ace-type bandage now and it fits fine with no more irritation. These fins give a great workout and, like most fins, add a lot of pressure to your ankles--esp. the achilles tendon area. Avoid if you have any ankle issues or injuries.
