I tried the ankle ones but this one worked better for legs use ,also if you can hook it up to a slightly higher attach point its nice.
I have a 12 ft. x 3 ft. steel frame pool. I hooked this up to one of the exposed poles and it kept me right in the middle of the pool. I got a great workout with this, I just wish I had found it a lot sooner since the summer is over now. It is very easy to use and setup.
It is nice to be able to swim whenever one likes, even with really small pools. However, it makes swimming awkward. I could not swim in a straight line, I kept getting blown across the pool (and there was no wind). Also, it makes staying streamlined impossible. The position it forces made my feet sink.
I have about four feet of deck around my pool, with no banister or diving board to hook it up to. I bought 6' length of bungee cord with closeable hooks ($15 at Ace Hardware) then also bought a 'dog stake' ($8 at Ace Hardware) which I pushed down into the flower bed, butted up against the outer edge of the deck. The eye on top of the stake swivels so it moves with me. I leave the stake in there because the flowers cover it. Works perfect!

I've been interested in buying a trainer, but didn't like the steep price I saw on some ... over $500!!! This one is great. If it only lasts the season, I'd be happy. I could buy a new one every season if necessary. Great value.
