Like the shoulder coverage ("sleeves") which provides even more safety as well as protection from the sun.  The style of this vest will allow for use as the child grows over more than one season...a little loose this first year but still safe.

My 2 year old loves independance and now she is free in the pool as well! She has to swim or tread water inorder to stay afloat so this swim device actually encourages her to swim.  It is a little large on her even with the sides tied tight but that leaves room for growth. The only thing I'd change is the strap that runs between her legs, holding the jacket down while in water.  The strap is rough and although she has not complained it has rubbed on her suit causing some visible disruption in the swimsuit fabric. I'm thinking of replacing the strap with a more forgiving fabric or trying it without. Overall I am very pleased with this product!

This is my second purchase of this product. My son wore out the first one. It goes on easy and i feel great because it helps my son float in the pool and gives him the room to swim.

This is the best!!! We have both our 2 and 3 year old in these and they love it.  We pair it up with the floaties and don't have to worry them.

I am using this vest for a 21 month old boy.  It allows him to swim independetly.  But if he does not move his legs and arms, the vest will not keep him afloat.  This is ok with us.  We did not want a floating device, we wanted something to assist his swimming lessons and not something that would keep him up.  I recommend this product as a learing tool.
