Interchangeable lenses
By GT from Alvin, TX on 7/1/2009

I got these as a replacement for ClubSwim that didn't fit well at all.  The nosepiece here is much better, and the goggles seem to fit well, though I have only been surface swimming.

For those, like me, who really need different lenses for each eye, these eye-cups are identical Left and Right.  I ordered 2 pairs with different strengths, swapped them around, now I have 2 pairs with the appropriate lenses for each eye.

optical goggles that are a good value for the price
By SansPeur.vj from Washington, DC on 6/29/2009

I like these goggles as they are lightweight and relatively inexpensive. The clear polycarbonate lens eyepieces fit over the eyes with silicone o-rings providing suction. With some adjustments, I've been able to keep most of the water out of my eyes. I suspect that, eventually, the polycarbonate lenses will get scratched and that the silicone material will degrade. But until such time, given the price, this is a good bargain. On the negative side, the nosepiece makes for a somewhat uncomfortable fit. The goggles do come with extra nosepieces to accommodate differences but, given the rigidity of the material, none of them is quite right. Other reviewers have also remarked on this weakest link aspect of the product. With my rather near-sighted (-7.0 D) and slightly astigmatic vision, swimming just wasn't as much fun as it is now. These "optical" i.e. prescription strength goggles have proved to be a "don du ciel", i.e. a godsend, despite the fact that each lens has the same power and there is, of course, no astigmatic correction at this price (but these things are probably of minor importance anyway in moving water). Now, with my head underwater what was previously a blur in the water has resolved into clear outlines. How beautiful it is to see the dappled sunlight and how it moves with the ripples in the water. C'est merveilleux!

Needed two pairs. Still nice.
By Nikolaos F. from College Park, MD on 6/24/2009

Bought them along with a normal non-optical one, since I only have problem with my left eye. Recombined the two pairs to produce two new ones that are good for me. Have them for two weeks now and I m very happy with them

So THAT'S what the pool looks like!
By Sully from Boston, MA on 6/24/2009

I'm a total Magoo (nearsighted) and so without glasses, I felt like I was taking life in limb every time I left the locker room.  Or I brought my glasses to the edge of the busy pool and watched as glasses (in case) were tripped over or kicked in.  Always thought prescription goggles would be very expensive (like fancy running shoe orthotics) but these were completely reasonably priced, and the prescription allows me to see where I'm going in the pool and around the pool.  Wouldn't drive my car in them, but love them for laps!  Still haven't figured out which nose piece fits (I've never quite been able to figure this out with other goggles and so just live with nose pain).  All in all, if you wear glasses or lens, don't swim another minute without optical goggles.  They rule!
