Was hoping I could fit in a M, but should have ordered a L. Was part of a Halloween costume, so it didn't really matter.

I only wear these shorts about once a week when I lifeguard at the local pool. The fit is good. They seem pretty true to size; maybe just a tad on the small side but not enough to make a difference. If you like your shorts loose or a bit baggy, go for the next size up.

I ordered these for my son who was going to work as a lifeguard at our Boy Scout Camp this summer. He loves the feel of the material and even left the netting inside which he has always cut out of every other swimsuit he's had. I bought this style based on one of the other lifeguard's recommendation.  Because my son is very tall, they were shorter than he was used to, but he liked them so much, he wanted to keep them. Next year, I'll get the longer cargo style. Having been in retail for the 38 years, I tend to be very picky  and I personally was pleased with the quality for the price I paid.
