from my mother, Ruth Hershman 941-377-0006        Being a swimming instructor for more that 40 years qualifies me to know the difference.  The rectangular shape with the rounded top make balancing easier for children while kicking their feet under the water and holding the board about 1/3 down from the top with thumbs on the colorful top and fingers on the bottom of the board.  These kickboards will last many years if not left floating in the water when not in use.  Speedo Kickboards are the best!!!!

We use the kickboard at our lake.  It's a great size for kids.  It is actually even strong enough for an adult too when you are in the deep section and treading water while your kid swims around (without the adult/bulky size).

The sharks are fun.  I grab the kick board and smile.  On a practical matter, I like the bouyancy.  For an adult, it lays flatter in the water, not causing an arch in my back.  I am concerned whether the stitching for the shark material will hold with use, but after half dozen uses I don't see any evidence of pulling.
