I use these for physical therapy on my back. They work great for the excercises that I have to do and they give great resistants in the water to help with balance and muscle toning.

I have had one single pair of these very simple float dumbbells for 8 years. They are extremely durable, even with teeth marks from a puppy a few years ago. I think they will last indefinitely.
I am an experienced deep water jogger and also do some shallow water intense resistance training to change things up. These are the dumbbells used by a leading Sports Medicine Rehab. aquatic program because they provide self- directed resistance as well as bouancy. I chose to purchase the set based on my use with them at the aquatic program.
The fit is universal. They fit in your hands, so there is no length to measure or judge. The ease of use is a 10 on a scale of 1-10.
YOU control the amount of resistance in the way you hold the dumbbells in the water, and the speed of arm/ hand movements. I KNOW they are not intended as a stand- alone floatation product, but I am amazed that they absolutely do allow enough bouancy to allow me to use perfect vertical technique in the water for deep water jogging. If you are in an outdoor pool as I am, they provide an exceptionally cooler workout than with a belt on. LOTS cooler on the body. I would not recommend this particular use for non-swimmers or those beginning a deep water jogging routine- you need a full waist belt, also sold here at SwimOutlet. The dumbbells do work as a great multi-function product for experienced deep water joggers, though.
I highly recommend this product for everyone whose concentration is total body fitness. I probably would select one of the other dumbbells shown on SwimOutlet IF intense upper body training was my main or sole focus. I do not get a " feel the burn" sustained muscle exhaustion with this product. I am female, late 40's, healthy weight, average user status with years of experience with all facets of therapeutic aquatic exercise, both aerobic and gentle rehab.
