The sticky part does stick to the surface, but my hand slips within the glove, so the fabric ends up being pulled tight around the base of my fingers.  But I got them for crazy-hot days when I''m so sweaty I slip on my mat and since it''s winter, I won''t get to see if they work so well for THAT purpose that I don''t mind the tightness around my fingers until summer. . .
