I decided to get these for that occasional run/walk. I am not an avid runner any longer, but used to be. My main reason for getting this set is that I have long, straight and silky Indian hair. I found that all knit caps/hats that I have tend to slide up on my head because of my silky hair. This cap stays in place and is anchored by my pony tail that slips through the slot in the back (great design) for those with long hair and keeps my head warm in cold NY temperatures.
