Wow! I surf in New England (more like New Iceland), so I was in the market for the warmest suit I could find. This is definitely it. I took it out on Thanksgiving, and it was toasty even after a couple of hours. For the most part, it didn''t even feel like the suit was taking on water, and that''s probably because of the Flash Dry lining. It''s very comfy in the water, and it does dry absurdly fast. I was washing it in the shower, and one side was almost dry before I finished rinsing off the other.
The fit is excellent, at least for my body. I''m 5'' 10", 170", and I wear the Medium. The crotch tends to ride a bit low, so I have to spend extra time pulling at the knees and thighs, but otherwise, it''s ideal. The hood keeps water out pretty well, and it includes a little visor to divert water. Flexibility is good, especially in the shoulders.
Now, for the disadvantages. This is a pain to doff (like any chest-zip wetsuit), because you can''t get any leverage when pulling the shoulders down. Because of the fit, the lower body portion is also tough to pull off. Some people use baby or coconut oil to butter up before putting it on. Not sure how that would affect the suit.
Also, the Flash Dry lining has a tendency to pill, so I''m guessing it loses its effectiveness over time.
Overall, this is a phenomenal wetsuit. If you can get away with a back-zip, I''d say to go with that, but if you''re set on a chest-zip oven of a wetsuit, this is it.
