First of all, it works.  It allows you to take your ipod to the pool but that's about it.  You can't operate the ipod which is very annoying if you need to adjust the volume to suit the environment (louder when sitting at the spa, lower when walking in the pool, etc.)  The otterbox which is a lot heavier and clunkier has that feature.  The best product out there in terms of size and functionality is swimman's.  

The biggest problem swimming with an MP3 is not the size & weight of the player.  The challenge is how to keep the headphones snuck tight in your ears.  After a few trials and errors, I've found that any earphones would fit just fine as long as you trim the ear pieces to fit your ears (which takes a lot of guessing, I ruined a couple sets), then find a swim headband that will hold them tight but not too tight.  The swim cap is too tight and usually pulls the headphones out instead of holding them in.  The headband works best but also makes you look like a dope.
