I swim laps three times a week and use a snorkel due to back issues. I''ve been using a side ocean going one, but wanted to try a front snorkel to reduce drag. I bought this one based on the mainly positive reviews. I agree with some of the posters. It is toy-like. I''m used to one that keeps the water out and this definitely does not do that. I like to look straight down while swimming and occasionally tuck my chin. This gets water in the tube which does not blow out easily. I''ve only used it twice, but today I was clearing water about every 10 laps. I would not want to submerse this while swimming. The mouthpiece is small. that is fine with me, but the edges dig a bit into my right lower gums if I am not careful. I may be able to twist the mouthpiece a bit to stop this, but am not sure. The tube has good airflow, is easy to use and definitely reduces drag. I like the way it attaches on the forehead. It is comfortable and unobtrusive. I will continue using it but would like to find one that doesn''t allow water in in the first place.

First time using a snorkel definitely takes some getting used to. Once I sucked some water up my nose, it's great! Such a good tool to focus on my stroke. I would suggest using a nose plug at first.

It Might Look Like a Toy, But... |

I use the snorkel at the beginning of my warm up set, pulling with buoys, & recently I''ve gotten used to the snorkel enough to a swim/snorkel/fin set. (~500m). The negs- It looks like a toy. The 20mm diameter tube is small by snorkel standards. Compared to other swim snorkels, the tube is shorter, which off-sets the diameter a bit. Personally I think if the snorkel was wider in diameter you''d have a near perfect product. The pros- skinny tube & all...the design follows the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle, a tube & a mouth piece. No leaks. It takes a little experimenting to get things set up right for personal use...but that''s relatively easy. I find I don''t need nose clips, but it''s something to consider. All in all, I''d say despite looking like a toy, it functions very well as an addition to my workout options. I would certainly recommend this over fancier looking snorkels, because when you''re face down in the water, you want something that functions, not something that looks cool.

I'd love to have given this product 5 stars, but, there's room for improvement. Cons- it looks like a toy. The description says it meets the need of high level & advanced swimmers & "fits well with junior swimmer's training" Heavy on the junior. The tube is narrow & the mouthpiece is small. That said- Pros- compared to the Finis snorkel, this snorkel is great. The Finis snorkel leaked straight out of the package, so I was constantly expelling water from the tube. No such issues with this snorkel. My only wish is that there were an "adult " version, something with a standard size snorkel tube. Still, this "toy" stays in my gym bag, the other snorkel, into my recycling bin.
