I bought this monitor so that I wouldn't have to wear a strap in the pool. The touch sensor is a bit slow to display and by the time it does, I've recovered and get a lower reading than at my peak. Satisfactory for the price, but if you're serious about your workouts and tracking your performance, spend more for a more sophisticated monitor.

The print in the instructions is so small that it is virtually unreadable. So I haven't yet used watch - I haven't learned how.

I bought this pulse monitor because it was reasonably priced and because I have been looking for an inexpensive monitor to wear while swimming. I tried out the product on dry land first- everything worked perfectly. Then I wore the product while swimming laps for about an hour. I tried to measure my heart rate in between sets (using the posture recommended in the instructions) and it would not register. A few hours after the pool, condensation appeared on the inside surface of the watch face and the watch ceased to work altogether. It has been a week since the incident, and the watch has not worked since. The heart rate function stopped working as soon as the unit got wet. If you want a watch/heart rate monitor to wear in the pool, this is not it.
