I bought the socks hoping that I would not get all the blisters that I read about in the reviews of the fins. In that regard they do work terrific. I have been wearing them about a month now and I did not get one blister. I swim 3-4 times a week. My only complaint is about the seam that runs down the middle on the top of the foot and the middle on the bottom of the foot. I usually just twist the sock so that the seam is on the side. Other than that, they go on easy in the water and I will continue to use them.
I bought these socks to reduce friction on my ankles from my new leg trainers and found they also work great with my water aerobic shoes. I use a water walking track and have had to visit a podiatrist often for sore toenails. With the lycra socks, there is no friction on the nails at all. I would love to see a neoprene ankle band to provide a bit more cushioning for the leg trainers. (Hint to Speedo!)
Socks have seems across the top and bottom of the foot. Extremely uncomfortable. Returned item.
These things are great as a way to keep you from chaffing your feet inside a set of fins...which is their intended function. They do protect your feet from a rocky or stoney shoreline somewhat, but since they do not have soles, they will not last long...if your lucky more than one wearing.Very comfortable, but the large is a little too large for my size 9 1/2...recommend a size down if you prefer a snugger fit.
For me, these work well with Zoomers as they immediately solved the problem of spots on my feet rubbed raw by the Zoomers. They're lighter and less noticeable than neoprene socks. Plus they dry quickly.
Great love them, I thought I had permanent cuts on my ankles due to my flippers but wearing these has given them a chance to heal! Won't be without a pair again.
