I bought it because it wasn't ridiculously long. Folks around Middle US still wear stupid board shorts, but if I wear a newer length, I get stares, which I don't like. So this was a good compromise. The added benefit is a very good suit. There is no liner, which is OK with me. The only drawback I can see is tha the material doesn't dry quickly like a lot of swim trunks. It is a soft material that is a tad more absorbent. Also - if you want baggy butt-ugly fit, go a size larger. These fit like you aren't a fatty, so if you are, go bigger.
I have gotten a lot of compliments in them.
