It goes around waist but even much lower is where i like to wear it, kinda look like a sexy garter because it is slim, but from a woman''s point of view, excellent because the pouch "expands" where it holds your stuff. Need GLASSES? Put them in there with your phone (I have a small phone and away you go, NEVER having to search for these two items again. LOVE IT!
