I was looking for an inexpensive pair of tri shorts for my first tri race and bought these zoot shorts mainly because of the price. My main goal was to find a pair without the gripper at the legs trying to eliminate the "sausage effect"..  These shorts do not have the silicone gripper and DO stay in place, and no "sausage-effect".  Had I rated the shorts when I first got them I would have given 5 stars.  The problem is they do not seem to be holding up to several washings.  The seems are coming undone and the zoot name on the shorts are both coming off.  I have washed them according to the instructions.  The padding is adequate and dries quickly.  One last comment is that the shorts are a bit thin and may be revealing in the buttocks area on the bike for some.  Overall, these are great shorts for first timers who want to "try the tri".
