I am a 50 something woman who was told to start swimming for back disc rehab reasons. Started without a snorkle but my neck didn't take the turning, neck started vibrating after 2nd session. Bought this snorkle, started with a nose plug but found it uncomfortable. Took about two sessions to get used to it and stopped using the nose plug after the 1st session as I lost it and works fine without it. This is great for continuous swimming, keep your head level, blow through the nose if you feel water entering the nose as you swim. I have to stop at the wall after each lap to blow out water, then I turn and go again. I use it for about 50 laps in just over 30 minutes. Wouldn't recommend for faster swimmers that are breathing hard as this causes more intake of water in to the mouth piece and causes you to come up. For the moderate swimmer this is perfect.

The mouth piece is uncomfortable and there is no valve to keep out water. Overpriced compared to regular model

More comfortable for adults than the other models I tried. The other manufacturers have little kiddie mouth pieces in them. This one has an adult mouthpiece and overall comfort is great. I swim about 4 miles a week with it.

use it for training for iron man. has helped increase swimming distance doubled in last three weeks since starting using it. allows normal breathing. adjusts very easy. have to come out of water to clear though when water gets in tube, but water intake very minimal-swimmer's fault. follow recommendation and use a nose plug

I love this snorkel. I use it when I swim laps in the pool. I like that I can wear it with my goggles and I don't need a bulky face mask in the pool. This allows my head and neck to stay in one position- not turning side to side to breathe- so I experience much less stress on these areas. The head strap that fits the forhead stays in place pretty well. I have tried using it with and without a nose plug and definitely recommend a nose plug (especially if you are a nose breather). The mouth piece digs a little into my upper gum in the front- this is the only negative I have found. Definitely a great purchase. The other ladies I swim with have since purchased this snorkel and love it, too.

So you are going to hate it at first. It's hard to get used to, only because you have to figure out how to flipturn with it. Take a big breath right before you flip, and breath out of your nose like you normally would. After you have completed the flip and you are underwater in a streamlined position, blow out of your mouth and you will be fine. Make sure you dont start to sink or else all of the water will come in.
